“Shocked  & Devastated,” Theatre Legend  Feroz Abbas Khan, Manoj Bajpai  and Imran Zahid  On  The Death Of  Aamir Raza Husain

Renowned theatre director Feroz Abbas Khan  can’t believe that his colleague  Aamir Raza Husain is gone.

  “I am devastated,” says Feroz. “He was truly a trailerblazer in theatre, imagining the impossible and making it happen.Ramayan and Kargil were audacious productions that mesmerised the audiences.”

Feroz admits that Raza  was  an inspiration. “Personally I have been inspired by his vision and imagination.He was very learned and generous with his time and knowledge.We have lost a very powerful voice.”

Manoj Bajpai who  was a devoted stage actor before  doing film says, “I never knew him personally but always admired his zeal and passion to make the stage look bigger than the screen! All his plays not only told stories but also left audience in awe of the settings and the characters!He will be missed by all the people who believed stage is the superior performing arts medium! Rest in peace Aamir Raza Husain.”

Theatre and film actor Imran Zahid admits to being inspired by   Raza. “Bahut chote the tab suna tha unke play Ramayan ke baare me…ke bahut bada set  tha unke play ka poora Feroz Shah Kotla me  play ka set tha .. aur fir Kargil pe play tha jisme unhone helicopter bhi use kiya tha that too in year  2000..aisa play  aur feel sirf Aamir Raza Husain hi kar sakte the ..har theatre practitioner ka khawab hota hai aise legendary theatre director ke saath kaam karne ka(I was  very young when I I had heard  about his Ramayan where the  entire Firoze Shah Kotla  stadium  in Delhi was the stage..he did a play on Kargil where he  used a real helicopter,and that too in the  year2000…only Aamir Raza Husain could bring such grandeur on stage. Every theatre practitioner dreamt  of working with him.”
