Two Prominent Webseries Add Disclaimers  On Violence Against Children

Disney+Hotstar’s  Obi-Wan Kenobi  and Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4, two of the most talked-about  international series have  been persuaded to  make changes following the  savage massacre  of  children in a  Texas school.

Both the highly-anticipated  series  contain scenes  of suggested, though by no means graphic,  violence  against children.Both have added disclaimers regarding  violence  against children after the Texas shocker.

And this is  just the beginning. Apparently  the major OTT platforms  and cinema  will follow  supremely stringent guidelines  regarding the way children are treated

Pahlaj Nihalani who was  the former chairperson of the Central Board  Of Film Certification says  violence against children is  strictly forbidden. “Not even a  parent slapping a child is permitted. I remember there was film directed  by Rakeysh  Mehra  where a minor was shown using a gun. It took  a lot  of discussion to find  a solution,  as deleting  it would have  damaged the  film.”
