Anurag Basu Drops Ranbir For Abhishek Bachchan
After Barfi and Jagga Jasoos, Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor are not getting together for a third film.
There was much talk of the director and his favourite actor coming together for a third film in spite of the bad blood that flowed after the monstrous failure of Jagga Jasoos. Ranbir’s father the irrepressible Rishi Kapoor had lashed out against Basu accusing him of squandering time and money over an over-indulgent film.
Both Ranbir and Basu had assured the junta that their relationship was in a fine shape and that they would soon be reuniting, probably for singer Kishore Kumar’s biopic.
However, the news from the Basu front is that it is no more Ranbir Kapoor in his cinema.
Informs a knowledgeable source, “Anurag Basu’s next film is the sequel to his 2007 sleeper hit Life In A Metro.
There will be four different stories. One of them will star Abhishek Bachchan. Another will feature Kangana Ranaut and Raj Kummar Rao. None will feature Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir is taking a break from his favourite director.”
