Scoop:  Gujarati Actor Pratik Gandhi To Play Stock Market Phenomenon Harshad Mehta In Hansal Mehta’s Film

It  is Mehta on Mehta  now. Filmmaker Hansal Mehta who has  made many memorable movies on  real-life  characters such as Shahid, Aligarh and Omerta, is all set to crack a bio-pic on the very complex  character  of Harshad Mehta, the stockmarket wizard who had  meteoric rise in  the 1980s  and who fell from grace  just as quickly.

 It is  reliably learnt that  Hansal Mehta who  is  a Gujarati  himself,decided to  cast only a  Gujarati in the lead.

Hansal Mehta has chosen the well-known Gujarati theatre and  film actor Pratik Gandhi to  play Harshad Mehta. Gandhi who is very popular in Gujarat,  will also be seen in a supporting role in Lovratri the film introducing Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Ayush Sharma.

Incidentally a really awfully film titled Gafla based on the Harshad Mehta scam was made in 2006. The  film made a mockery of  the man who shook the Indian stock market.
