If you want to see something change in your Connections puzzle today, you might need a hint to get something to move. There are a lot of ways you might get trapped in this puzzle, and I myself had some difficulty getting to the end. If you are having these troubles, you can use a few hints and tricks from us to help you get through it and get that Perfect! score.

If you are looking at trying another puzzle, the daily Tiles puzzle is one that will give you some space to not think too hard and get into a meditative flow. If you need a puzzle that won’t demand too much of you, this is it. I feel like I get into a groove with the Tiles puzzle that I don’t with the others as much. I think it’s because there are no words, and I do not have to think about the definitions behind them as I am selecting tiles to match. It’s a great game, and you should try it out.

Today’s Connections Category Hints

APRIL 05 #664

Rainbow in Connections Categories April 05

If you are looking for some good hints to help you get through the end of this puzzle, you can get them from the bullet points below. I found that there were a lot of words that could go in a lot of different categories for this one. I also found the hardest categories to be yellow and purple, which is an interesting combination. This could be very different if you have a different career experience than I do, as one of those categories has to do with something that I wouldn’t normally use those words for.

  • One category is about four words that describe how someone might be recruited
  • One category is about four things you are likely looking at right now
  • One category is about four titles of the same kind of media
  • One category has four words that share a common trait of ending with a specific device

While I did eventually get this one right, I think it was ENGAGE that kept me from getting it for a long time. I don’t often hear it as a term of employment, so it was a bit of a surprise to see it and figure out what was going on there. However, I did eventually realize that it was a word that implied a CONTRACT, so I was able to make that connection and get the right answer. It took longer than I wanted it to to get the first category in this puzzle, but at least I did get there in the end.

SIDEBAR

This was an easier category for me today, as I caught onto what was going on pretty quickly. I have experimented with making a couple of websites, which is likely why I saw this so quickly. I think what gave it away was HEADER and MENU, before I looked around and saw the other two words and figured they must have to go there. I had a lot of hope after solving this one and the blue category fast, and then I got slowed down quite a bit as I attempted to finish the puzzle.

TIME

Being much more immersed into the magazine world after I became a freelancer, STAR and TIME caught my eye quickly and BILLBOARD confirmed that suspicion fast. I then had to get the last word, and even though PEOPLE is quite generic, it was still not that hard to figure out what was going on and snatch up all the categories. It also got me to think about some of these magazines and made me want to go check one of them out.

SEMBLANCE

This one was tricky and despite my knowledge on the subject, I wouldn’t have been able to answer it as well as I wanted to. I couldn’t figure out where CROSSWORD went, particularly since it was hiding out among these other words, and I couldn’t quite figure out what it was supposed to be for. However, by the time I finished, it made a lot more sense, and I was able to just scrape under the radar with my abilities. It was a very close call, and I am fortunate that my last guess mattered the most.
