Vikas Bahl Could Ruin Kabir Khan’s Cricket Project

With the production company Phantom being dissolved and one of its partners Vikas Bahl bringing great disrepute to the alliance,  the company’s next production the mammoth ‘83 about India’s triumph at the World Cup, is likely to get seriously affected.

Not only do the actors like Ranveer Singh (who plays cricket legend Kapil Dev) need to take a stand against Vivek Bahl for his sexual misconduct, the reputation of many cricket legends such as Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Mohinder Amarnath, and Dilip Vensarkar would also be at stake.

All these cricketing phenomena were part of the 1983 World Cup victory. Their participation in a film whose producers are embroiled in a sordid sexual misconduct case may not do good to their image.

A source close to the project says, “Right now the situation is unclear. Maybe the film will now have another producer, in which case the project can go on. But if Phantom post its dissolution, is still associated with ’83 the cricketing legends may decide to back out. And director Kabir Khan may also back out.”
