Exposed: Sultan Leaked On The Net
Though Yash Raj Films is in a denial mode, the fact is their prized premium Eid product Sultan was leaked on theinternet on Tuesday a day before the film was released worldwide.
The film was available on the Dark Web . A screen shot of the film from the Dark Web is included.
(The Dark Web is a term that refers specifically to a collection of websites that are publicly visible, but hide the IPaddresses of the servers that run them.)
Rather than confront the crime and contain the damage done by the leakage, the producers were busy denying the ‘dark’ reality of piracy.A few days earlier when Great Grand Mast , to be released on July 22 now preponed toJuly 15, was leaked on the Internet the producers tried to hush up the leakage so that according to them, the public awareness about the leakage would be controlled and hence the exposure of the illicit internet copy will be contained.
Says censor chief Pahlaj Nihalani, “It is easy to pin the blame on the censor board since some of these leaked films online have censor certificate written on them. But just because these leaked films are watermarked to the censor, we don’t became culpable. There are many stages where the films could be pirated. Rather than try to hush up the crime production houses should carry out a thorough public investigation and check the leakage before it kills the film business.”
